When I try to print these rules, the document shows to be 8.3 x 11.7 inches, so it's hard to scale it well in order to do duplex printing and still have the page numbers visible. Is this on purpose?

I downloaded the 10 free paper minis armies to play AoF with my friends, but I noticed no dwarf, elf armies, do I have to pay for them?
where can I get all the armies for the game (paper minis) and or where can I see a list of all the armies and how the units look?

thank you!

Hello Edwin!

At this point in time the Dwarf and Elf armies are yet to be released as paper minis.

Once a full paper army is released, it will be available for free, here: https://preview.drivethrurpg.com/en/publisher/16079/onepagerules?productType=2200

What is the difference between Age of Fantasy & Age of Fantasy: Regiments?

I ask as their descriptions sound exactly he same. Is ‘Regiments’ just the new name for the Age of Fantasy ruleset?

AoF is played with round bases and loose formations, AoF:R is played with square bases and rank&file formations.

Is there a point system to build my own units? Do I have to use the army books?

Age of Fantasy: Skirmish is for small battles with 5-10 models per side, whilst Age of Fantasy is for big battles with 40-50 models per side.

The rules seem identical to Grimdark Future...other than army lists are there any real differences I’m missing?

They are similar system based off the same core engine. The main differences are in the special rules (Grimdark Future has things like Aircraft, Age of Fantasy has things like Phalanx), and in some of the Advanced Rules (like Fatigue). That being said, the army lists definitely make a big difference in how the game is played.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
