Duty calls, "duty calls" is a 28mm miniatures game designed to recreate modern and contemporary conflit in solo game or in cooperation mode. The game involves the use of infantry troops but it is also possible to implement air vehicles and supports for more substantial games. The aim of the game will be to free the streets and war zones from hostile objectives that will reveal themselves during the game in an unexpected way..

Rules on black with white text and there are a lot of color pictures. Will you make also an ink saving version of the rules ? I mean black text on white with no pictures or with black and white pictures.

There should not be allowed to be Italian words like "malus" or "tabella movimento" (it´s movement table) in English rules. English person performing proofreading would be good also. Preview shows word "conflit". It´s "conflict". Just suggestions. Otherwise the rules seem fine and interesting.

Thank you olof!!! Sorry for some error but I did the translation by myself with just my basic English. I really appreciate your suggestion. I will fix the error asap, in one month or less anyway I will upload a totally new version ( printer friendly) as I did already in italian, with a very nice graphics. For translating this time I will ask to a professional translator.

interesting rules.. Some examples of combat would be very helpful as would a glossary. Still not sure how combat works. if thinking of buying just beware that there is information missing or was never there to explain the combat mechanics (ranged), HtH is explain and straightforward. Some text still in Italian(?), mostly table titles.

Based on the last file upload date, looks like the inclusion of the ranged combat mechanics and explanation still has not been added to the rules. :( Too bad, since it was the deal of the day today....

hi brian, so sorry to be so late, i'm still working on the new rule's update. the new update will be availbe soon and i will add a better explanation about combat mechanics. .
the new rule will add new equipment (gas mask, etc), new weapons, and some more playable scenario.

Hope you still enjoy "duty calls".

Dear Pasquale, Would like to get this ruleset as it is solo. I have some questions:
1. Have you a deadline for your update ? January 2023 perhaps ? Then I could buy the ruleset. As of now the ranged combat procedure is not provided according to Brian´s review. It would be good if you would in your answer describe the ranged combat procedure. On the whole there should be more information about the game.
2. Is it possible to make an ink saving version of the rules ? Otherwise I will not print it, only copy with a pen.
3. What means malus in the preview´s table ? Is it a to hit number which is rolled with a D10 ?
4. Are there a separate damage roll ?

Hi olof, the new version should be ready in a month ( 15 February) and will be very printer friendly. ( you can check the duty call ita prewiew)
For the range combat its very easy. If you have line of sight you trow the number of 2d6 of the weapon that the model carry ( 1 2d6 for a gun). If the result is equal or greater of the "malus" of the hitted miniature, that miniature are killed. Modifiers will be applied if there are any.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
